What a wonderful service we had on Saturday 8th of March 2008. The praise and worship awesome. The presence of God was just hovering the sanctuary. Such a privilege to see youth being on fire and worshiping God.
I spoke about being ready for God. the message was taken from Matthew 25:1-13 it was about the parable of the ten virgins. these ten bride were waiting for its bridegroom to come 5 were wise the other 5 were foolish. the wise one's they brought a spare oil and the other 5 didnt bring any spare oil. the bride can be symbolized as us while the bridegroom is Christ. we are all waiting for the bridegroom to come and take us to be with him. so many of us are tired of waiting for the second coming of Christ and we end up living our own life. the bible clearly stated that Christ would come like a thieve at the time which is unexpected. hence we all have to be ready at all time so that we would not end up like the foolish one's. we have to be wise who is always ready with spare oil so that we can fill in when our lamps are out.
I would like to share with you 3 tips so that we can always be ready they are
1. Be prepare In and out of season (Matthew 25:3-4): the foolish one's never bring spare oil they were prepared for the bridegroom to come early but they were not ready if the bridegroom comes late so friends we have to be prepared at all time as a child of God we have to be alert at all times. so many times we end up doing things our way because judgment time is still very long. but friends let me tell you be ready for judgment because it will at an unexpected time we all don't know the day and the time of judgment it could happen today it could happen tomorrow we have to be ready with our oil so that when Christ comes our lamps will always shine.
2. Don't depend on the anointing of other (Matthew 25:8-9): when the bridegroom come they ask for oil from the wise one's, and the wise one's there is not enough oil for 2 people. friends so many times we depend on people for our oil. we hop churches wanting to be prayed by different pastors just to expect oil from them. when we do that we are like the foolish virgin. we should not depend on great pastor to lay hands on you. friends we should be having our own oil, our own anointing, God empower all his child he didn't have certain child that he empowered he empowered all of us to come to him and get his anointing and he can answer your prayer. it is not necessary that a certain pastor need to be praying for your needs and it will be answered you can pray for your needs and you will see God will meet up your need as long as it is n line with his will. don't depend on people but be Dependant to God
3. Don't delay things (Matthew 25:10) : as i was reading this portion of scripture it came to me why didn't the foolish one's buy oil earlier when the bridegroom wasnt coming as early as they expected? well i think they are called foolish for a reason. many a times we become like the foolish one's we delay things we delay our devotion time, we delay our works just because of a good TV show that is going on or maybe something else. as a child of God we should not delay our time with God we should be the one's who will always be discipline in the things that we are doing
in conclusion i would like for all of you to check yourself which group do you belong the wise one's or the foolish one's and if u feel that you are in the foolosih and you want to change seek his face and tell him that you are sorry and you want to change.
thank you all for your support God bless you
